Technique Tuesday Blog Hop - Heat Embossing


Time for another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.  This month our theme is "Heat Embossing". This is one of my favourite techniques and I think it was the very first technique I learned!

I still am amazed by the magic of the embossing powder melting and creating this gorgeous raised glossy image!  Who doesn't love that!

I created this "emboss resist" card using the Textured Notes Bundle which is an Online Exclusive that will be available starting March 4th!  I love the entire Botanical Textures Suite and I know you are going to love it too!

Check out this pretty card in Basic Black, Real Red and Crumb Cake.

Instructions

  1. Cut Basic Black cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2".  Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder.
  2. Cut Real Red cardstock 3 1/2" x 5"
  3. Cut Basic Black cardstock 3 5/8" x 5 1/8"
  4. Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  5. Wipe Basic White cardstock using Embossing Buddy.
  6. Stamp large stem image randomly on Basic White cardstock using Versamark.
  7. Sprinkle with White WOW! Embossing Powder and heat to melt.
  8. Use Blending Brush to ink over the embossed images using Crumb Cake ink.
  9. Stamp smaller stem and woven basket top randomly over embossed images using Crumb Cake ink stamped off.
  10. Cut out using 3rd largest rectangle from Textured Notes Dies.
  11. Adhere to Basic Black cardstock
  12. Adhere to Real Red cardstock
  13. Wrap ribbon around middle of card and tie a small bow on the left hand side
  14. Adhere to card base.
  15. Wipe Basic Black cardstock using Embossing Buddy.
  16. Stamp sentiment on Basic Black cardstock using Versamark.
  17. Sprinkle with White WOW! Embossing Powder and heat to melt.
  18. Cut out using Paper Snips
  19. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
  20. Adhere black Neutral Matte Dots
  21. Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  22. Use Blending Brush to add Crumb Cake ink in bottom right corneer
  23. Stamp small stem in bottom right corner using Crumb Cake ink
  24. Adhere to inside of card
