Time for a Stamping With Friends Blog Hop! Today's theme is a "Floating Hexagon" Card. You may have also heard them called a Band Stand card.

This was so fun to make on a recent live! Isn't this adorable! I used the Meant To Bee Bundle and Cute as Can Bee Designer Series Paper from the Stampin' Up! Scrapbooking Brochure! Love this!

When I made the card I realized it won't fold flat! Darn! I've adjusted the measurements in the instructions below so that it will fold flat and fit in an envelope.

Instructions - watch the video to help you with the instructions but NOTE that the measurements below have been adjusted to what I said in the video so that the card will lay flat!

Cut Petunia Pop cardstock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" (Card Base)
Score at 3/4" and 3 1/2"
Fold on scorelines - both in valley configuration using Bone Folder.
Cut 2 pieces of Petunia Pop cardstock 1 1/4" x 5 3/4" and score each at 3/4", 1 7/8" 3 7/8" and 5".
Fold on scorelines and burnish with Bone Folder - all in Mountain configuration
Cut 4 pieces of Pretty in Pink 1" x 1 1/8"
Cut 4 pieces Designer Series Paper 7/8" x 1"
Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the Pretty In Pink cardstock
Adhere to the outside sections of Petunia Pop cardstock that you scored.
Repeat on second piece.
Cut 2 pieces of Pretty in Pink 1 1/8" x 1 7/8"
Cut 2 pieces Designer Series Paper 1" x 1 3/4"
Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the Pretty In Pink cardstock
Adhere to the middle section of Petunia Pop cardstock that you scored.
Repeat on second piece.
Adhere Petunia Pop cardstock (1 1/4" x 5 3/4") to the top of the card base with the 3/4" scoreline. Apply your glue to the first front flap (3/4") and adhere so that it lays to the left of the card base.
Repeat on the bottom.
Cut 2 pieces of Pretty in Pink 5/8" x 5 3/8"
Cut 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Adhere Designer Series Paper to Pretty in Pink cardstock
Adhere one piece on the left section of the card base
Cut Pretty in Pink cardstock 2 5/8" x 5 3/8"
Cut Designer Series Paper 2 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Adhere Designer Series Paper to the Pretty in Pink cardstock
Adhere to the large middle section of the card base.
Turn the long scored piece of Petunia Pop over the front of the card and adhere to the 3/4" section of the card base on the top right side.
Repeat on the bottom.
Adhere the Pretty in Pink cardstock (5/8" wide) to the right narrow section of the card base.
Cut out hexagon from Window Sheet using 2nd largest Hexagon Die.
Cut out hexagon from Basic White cardstock using 3rd largest Hexagon Die.
Stamp sentiment on bottom of Basic White hexagon using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Stamp "bee trail" on Basic White using Pool Party ink
Adhere to Window Sheet Hexagon
Adhere to the top and bottom section of card base using Dimensionals
Stamp bee on Basic White cardstock using Daffodil Delight ink
Stamp stripes and face using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Stamp antennae using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Stamp wings using Pool Party ink
Cut out bee, wings and antennae using Dies.
Adhere wings and antenna to bee using Dimensionals
Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
Adhere Embellishments
Cut Basic White cardstock 2 5/8" x 5 3/8"
Stamp flowers on bottom using Petunia Pop ink - full strength and stamped off
Stamp centre of flower using Daffodil Delight ink - full strength and stamped off
Adhere to the back of the card.
