Stamping With Friends Blog Hop - "CASE-ing" the Cattie

Time for a Stamping With Friends Blog Hop!  Today's theme is "CASE-ing the Cattie".  

Do you know what "CASE" means?  It means to "copy and share everything" and CASE'ing the Stampin' Up! Catalogues is a great way to get inspired!  You can check out the samples in the catalogues and copy them exactly or use them as inspiration!  When I lose my crafting MOJO I often go to the catalogue to get some inspiration!

Check out this card that I CASE'd from page 40 of the Stampin' Up! Jan to Apr Mini Catalogue.  I love the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle and I haven't played with the die that allows you to cut out a butterfly image for the front or back or both of a card.

Here's the card I cased from page 40.

Now, check out this card I made.  I changed up the colours but stayed pretty true to the design of the card although I used a regular card size rather than a note card.

Instructions

1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".
2. With card stock flat, lay butterfly die on the card base with top edge lining up with the scoreline and the 2 lines on each side of the butterfly just slightly above the scoreline.
3. Run through the Stampin' Cut n' Emboss Machine to cut out the front butterfly.
4. Stamp wings on butterfly front using Berry Burst ink stamped off.
5. Stamp dots on butterfly using Berry Burst ink.
6. Cut out body of butterfly from Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper.  Cut in half and adhere to butterfly front.
7. Cut out detailed butterfly from Petal Pink cardstock using Die.
8. Adhere to card front using a Glue Dot.
9. Fold card in half on scoreline and use Bone Folder to burnish on scoreline.
10. Rub Embossing Buddy on Designer Series Paper.
11. Stamp sentiment using Versamark and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder.
12. Heat to melt.
13. Cut into a rectangle.
14. Adhere to butterfly using Dimensionals.
15. Cut Designer Series Paper 3 1/4" x 5 1/2"
16. Adhere to inside of card.
17. Adhere Itty Bitty Bokeh Mix.
18. Stamp dots on back of card using Berry Burst ink.
