Technique Tuesday Blog Hop - Painters Tape Technique

Time for another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.  This month our theme is "Painters Tape Technique". It's always fun to pull out a technique you haven't tried or haven't played with in awhile!  This is such a fun one and so easy to do!

It seemed perfect to create a background for the adorable otters from the new Otterly Adorable Suite that will be released as an Online Exclusive starting today!  You're going to love these little creatures - so cute, right!

I used regular Masking Tape for my card as I didn't have Painters Tape, but because you're inking up the tape it doesn't stick to your paper.  So fun!

Instructions

  1. Cut Coastal Cabana cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2".  Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
  2. Cut Soft Seafoam cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  3. Cut Basic White cardstock 3 3/4" x 5"
  4. Ink up a torn strip of Painters Tape or Masking Tape and apply to the Basic White cardstock.  I started in the middle with Coastal Cabana and repeated 3 times.  Tear a new strip of tape and apply Soft Seafoam - repeat 4 time. Finally ink up with Pool Party and fill in the gaps.
  5. Emboss using the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder.
  6. Adhere to the Soft Seafoam cardstock.
  7. Wrap Soft Cording around cardstock and tie a bow on left side.
  8. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
  9. Cut out circle from Designer Series Paper using 2nd largest Spotlight on Nature Die.
  10. Stamp otters on Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  11. Colour with Stampin' Blends - Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake and Old Olive.
  12. Cut out using Die.
  13. Adhere to circle using Dimensionals
  14. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
  15. Adhere pearls
  16. Cut Basic White cardstock 3 3/4" 5"
  17. Stamp bubbles in bottom right corner using Coastal Cabana ink
  18. Adhere to inside of card.
