Sea Turtle Smooshing

I had fun playing with smooshing technique to create this pretty Thank You Card. The colours definitely called out for the Sea Turtle Stamp Set. Isn't this pretty! Have you played with the smooshing technique recently?

Smooshing is such an easy technique. I took Soft Seafoam, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana and dragged them across a piece of plastic - use one of the packages from an embossing folder or embellishments. Then spritz with water and lay your cardstock on top of the ink. You can use Fluid 100 Watercolour paper or Basic White cardstock.

Check out this pretty card. Did you know the Sea Turtle Stamp set is a reversible stamp? You can stamp using both sides of the stamp to get a background image and a detailed image. So cool!

Instructions

Cut Soft Seafoam cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2". Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
Cut Coastal Cabana cardstock 3 3/4" x 5"
Cut 2 pieces of Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Drag Soft Seafoam ink, then Pool Party ink and then Coastal Cabana ink across a piece of plastic.
Spritz with water until ink is beaded.
Lay Basic White cardstock on ink.
Repeat and drag more ink onto plastic
Lay second Basic White cardstock onto ink.
Let dry or dry using Heat Tool
Trim one of the pieces to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Stamp sentiment in bottom right corner using Coastal Cabana ink.
Adhere to Coastal Cabana cardstock
Adhere to card base.
Stamp large turtle detail onto 2nd inked cardstock using Coastal Cabana ink.
Stamp small turtle detail onto 2nd inked cardstock using Coastal Cabana ink.
Cut out using Paper Snips
Adhere large turtle to card base using Dimensionals
Adhere Shimmer Gems
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Adhere small turtle in bottom right corner
Adhere to inside of the card.

Christmas Stamp a Stack

Join me each month starting in July for my 2024 Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. We'll make 8 cards each month (2 of 4 designs) so you'll have a supply of cards on hand for all occasions.

Cost is $40 (local) or $45 (by mail) each month or free with a minimum of a $45 order (before taxes and shipping).

Two options - in person or by mail.

In Person - class will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 10am.

By mail - Zoom will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 1pm. The class will be recorded and available via YouTube if you can't join the class. You will substitute stamp sets or add the stampset/dies to your order.

Each month there will be an option to purchase the stampset or bundle. Costs will be based on product used.

Monthly Card Club

I'm excited to be offering a Monthly Card Club either In Person or by mail. Each month I will select a stamp set or bundle to feature.
