Festive Friday Challenge Blog Hop - World Card Making Day

It's time for another Festive Friday Challenge! Every second Friday we post a challenge for you with a specific theme and an Inspo List of 10 items to choose from to create your project. We encourage you to create a project based on the theme and Inspo List and then post it using at least 3 items from the inspiration list.

Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project and link up! #festivefridaychallenge At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion. I hope you’ll make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D project and join us. You don’t need a blog to enter Festive Friday. Check out this link on how you can play along with this challenge. This week’s challenge FF #168 - World Card Making Day

I used jute trim, clean & simple and a "for you" sentiment on my card. Clean and simple card are a challenge for me so it was fun to push myself a little bit! What will you create?

I used the Perennial Postage Dies to create a negative space mask for my card and then the Stampin' Up! Layering Leaves for the images. Can you see the scorelines around the border of the card? Easy to add details using your Paper Trimmer and the Scoring Blade.

Instructions

Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4". Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and cut out rectangle from middle using 2nd largest of the Perennial Postage Dies.
Use the negative mask (the piece with the hole in the middle) to add colour to the middle of the card base. I used Crumb Cake, Peach Pie and a little Copper Clay using my Blending Brush.
Keep the mask in place and stamp stem in bottom right corner using Copper Clay ink - stamp in the middle full strength, then stamp again on left and right side without re-inking stamp.
Splatter card Copper Clay using Stampin' Blend
Use scoring blade on trimmer to score a line 1/4" from each edge of the card base.
Cut out smallest square using Die from Basic White cardstock
Stamp sentiment using Copper Clay ink.
Distress the edges using Crumb Cake ink with Blending Brush
Splatter Copper Clay ink using Stampin' Blend.
Zig Zag Copper Clay twine behind sentiment
Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
Adhere embellishments
Stamp stem on inside of card in bottom right corner using Copper Clay ink.

Christmas Stamp a Stack

Join me each month starting in July for my 2024 Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. We'll make 8 cards each month (2 of 4 designs) so you'll have a supply of cards on hand for all occasions.

Cost is $40 (local) or $45 (by mail) each month or free with a minimum of a $45 order (before taxes and shipping).

Two options - in person or by mail.

In Person - class will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 10am.

By mail - Zoom will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 1pm. The class will be recorded and available via YouTube if you can't join the class. You will substitute stamp sets or add the stampset/dies to your order.

Each month there will be an option to purchase the stampset or bundle. Costs will be based on product used.

The September kit will use the Sweetest Star Stamp Set - from the September to December Mini Catalogue!

Monthly Card Club

I'm excited to be offering a Monthly Card Club either In Person or by mail. Each month I will select a stamp set or bundle to feature.

This month the club features the Season of Elegance from the Stampin' Up! September to December Mini Catalogue.

Add the Peaceful Evergreens or Peaceful Season to your kit and your class is free!

The In Person classes will be held on the last Sunday of each month from 10am to 12noon or 1-3pm. Space will be limited to 4 people per class.
