One of my favourite techniques is abstract watercolouring - I love the fact that you never really know until you finish what it might look like!

I decided to try abstract watercolouring with the decorative masks from the Layers of Beauty Bundle. It was easy although a little bit messy! Lay each mask down on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, spritz with water and then add reinker/water using a Water Painter. I stamped the image after the watercolour had dried. It's so fun to see the colours you get!

Isn't this pretty with Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green for this version.

Instructions

Cut Basic Black cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2". Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
Cut Flirty Flamingo cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and emboss using the So Swirly Embossing Folder.
Adhere to card base.
Lay Mask #1 over Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and spritz with water.
Mix Daffodil Delight Reinker with water and apply to paper using WaterPainter.
Change to Mask #2 - spritz with water
Mix Flirty Flamingo Reinker with water and apply to paper using WaterPainter.
Change to Mask #3 - spritz with water
Mix more reinker with the Flirty Flamingo Reinker and apply to paper using WaterPainter.
Change to Mask #4 - spritz with water
Mix Granny Apple Reinker with water and apply to paper using WaterPainter.
Change to Mask #5 - spritz with water
Mix more reinker with Granny Apple Green and apply to paper using WaterPainter.
Let dry completely.
Stamp image over watercolour using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Cut out using Die
Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
Cut Basic White cardstock 1/2" x 4"
Stamp sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Cut banner ends in each end using Paper Snips
Cut Basic Black cardstock 3/4" x 4 1/4"
Cut banner ends in each end using Paper Snips
Adhere sentiment to Basic Black cardstock using Dimensionals.
Adheere to card base using Dimensionals.
Tie a bow using Black and Very Vanilla Checked ribbon
Adhere to card base
Adhere Pearls.
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Stamp flower in bottom right corner using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Adhere to inside of card.

Christmas Stamp a Stack

Join me each month starting in July for my 2024 Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. We'll make 8 cards each month (2 of 4 designs) so you'll have a supply of cards on hand for all occasions.

Cost is $40 (local) or $45 (by mail) each month or free with a minimum of a $45 order (before taxes and shipping).

Two options - in person or by mail.

In Person - class will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 10am.

By mail - Zoom will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 1pm. The class will be recorded and available via YouTube if you can't join the class. You will substitute stamp sets or add the stampset/dies to your order.

Each month there will be an option to purchase the stampset or bundle. Costs will be based on product used.
