Technique Tuesday - Dry Embossing

Today I'm hopping with Stamping Demonstrators from around the world sharing projects featuring Dry Embossing. This was one of the very first techniques I learned when I started stamping. I love the texture you create using Embossing Folders.

Isn't this a fun Christmas Card - who doesn't get excited about stockings! It's the favourite part of Christmas morning for me - getting open up all of the little goodies in my stocking!

The Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder is a perfect background for any holiday card - lots of fun words and images. I also used the pretty Designer Series Paper called Traditions of St Nick along with the stocking stamp and die from Sending Cheer. Festive Pearls and coloured twine add the finishing touches!

Instructions

Cut Cherry Cobbler cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2". Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Embossing using Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder
Adhere to card base
Cut Designer Series Paper 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Adhere to card base about 1/2" from left edge
Cut 2 pieces of Cherry Cobbler cardstock 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Adhere to sides of Designer Series Paper
Stamp stocking using Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White cardstock
Stamp cuff on stocking using Mossy Meadow ink
Cut out using Die
Cut out heel and toe for stocking from Basic White cardstock using Die
Adhere to heel and toe of stocking
Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
Colour 6" of White Twine using Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend
Tie a bow and adhere to loop of stocking using a Glue Dot
Stamp sentiment on Basic White cardstock using Cherry Cobbler ink
Adhere to card base using a Dimensional
Adhere red Festive Pearls
Colour cuff of stocking using Wink of Stella. Let dry
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Cut Designer Series Paper 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Adhere Designer Series Paper to left edge of Basic White cardstock
Adhere to inside of card.
