Stamping With Friends - Magic Slider Card Blog Hop
Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop as we share what projects we are currently working on to inspire you! You will be visiting with our Design Team Members as they share their wonderful projects and ideas to help spark your creativity. This time our theme is a "Magic Slider Card".
I have to admit that when I saw this theme I almost decided not to play along. It's been a long time since I've made one of these cards. I'm so glad that I changed my mind. I had forgotten how fun and magical this card is! You can wow and amaze and maybe confuse your family and friends.
Check it out! Here's the first card I made using the Stampin' Up! Friendly Gnome Stamp Set. Looks like a pretty plain card when you first look.
But wow, when you pull the tab, the magic appears.
Now check out the second card I made using the Stampin' Up! Rhino Ready Stamp Set. The instructions below work for both cards - the only difference is whether your card is portrait and pulls from the top or landscape and pulls from the side.
Instructions
- Cut Designer Series Paper 5 1/2" x 12" and score at 4" and 8". Fold and burnish on scorelines using Bone Folder. This is your card base - the two flaps fold towards the middle.
- Trim about 1/8" off one side - this will remove some of the bulk and make your card base lay flatter.
- Cut an opening in the middle flap using a Die - can be whatever shape you want
- Cut Basic White cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/4" and score at 3/8". Fold and burnish on scoreline
- Add Tear & Tape adhesive down the 3/8" flap
- Adhere the 3/8" flap to the middle flap lined up with the fold line - flap will be adhere to the outside flap of your card base.
- Cut or punch a half circle in the top or side of the Designer Series Paper - this will be where you pull the insert from.
- Cut Window Sheet 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"
- Cut Basic White cardstock 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"
- Use your Stamparatus to stamp image and sentiment on Basic White cardstock using StazOn ink so that it will show in the middle of your opening - the Basic White piece will fit so it is close to the bottom of the card base.
- Line up the Window Sheet exactly over top of the Basic White cardstock and stamp the image and sentiment - they need to be stamped directly over top of the image on the Basic White.
- Colour your stamped image on the Basic White cardstock with Stampin' Blends or Markers.
- Punch or die cut a 1" circle from coordinating cardstock
- Fold in half
- With the Window Sheet and Basic White cardstock on top of one another and clipped on the bottom using a Bull Clip or paper clip, adhere one side of the circle to the Window Sheet side and the other side to the Basic White Side
- Cut 2 pieces of Basic White cardstock 3/4" x 3 3/4"
- Adhere one piece to the bottom of the Window Sheet
- Adhere one piece to the back of the Basic White cardstock at the bottom
- Slide the Window sheet piece onto the card base with the Window Sheet in front of the Basic White divider and the Basic White piece behind the divider.
- Cut 2 small pieces of Dimensional - adhere to the top of the card base - these will work as stoppers - Adhere a small piece of Basic White over top of the Dimensional
- Cut coordinating cardstock 1 1/2" x 4" and score in half.
- Adhere to the front and back of your card base at the bottom or side - this will close the card base.
- Adhere embellishments
- If you want a ribbon in your tab - poke a hole in the tab using your Take your Pick Tool.
- Add ribbon and tie a bow.
