Watercolour Stamp Pad Technique
Today I'm sharing a watercolour technique that I learned from UK Demonstrator Cary Buckham on a recent Stampin' Up! Watercolour Class for Demonstrators. I had never seen this technique before and I thought it was pretty cool. Create your own stamp pad using watercolour paper!
Check out this pretty card I created with this technique.
Instructions
- Cut Poppy Parade card stock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2"
- Cut Daffodil Delight card stock 4" x 5 1/4"
- Cut Watercolor Paper (Fluid 100) 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
- Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
- Use your blending brushes to apply ink to the Watercolor paper - I used Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Polished Pink. You want a deep colour so apply as many layers of ink as you need
- Using a rubber stamp, spritz with water - only 2 spritzes - you don't want this really wet.
- Apply to the inked watercolor paper and pick up some ink.
- Stamp on the Basic White card stock - this will be used of a separate card.
- Continue to do this with the stamp and other images. The wet stamp will pick up some of the colour. Stamp on the Basic White card stock
- Adhere to Daffodil Delight card stock
- Wrap ribbon around piece and tie a bow
- Adhere to card base.
- Stamp sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
- Adhere embellishments
- Cut Basic White card stock 4" x 5 1/4"
- Stamp image in bottom right corner using Tuxedo Black Memento ink
- Adhere to inside of card.
