First Frost Meets Swirly Frames

Friday, 28 September 2018

When I first say the Swirly Frames stamps I knew it was perfect for creating a wreath and I was right.  Today's card features the Swirly Frames stamp set plus First Frost.  First Frost is really versatile because it includes sentiments that aren't necessarily for Christmas or the Holiday Season.

The colour combination is Blackberry Bliss (I'm so happy it's back!), Petal Pink and Tranquil Tide.

Instructions

  1. Cut card base from Blackberry Bliss cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4"
  3. Stamp the largest circle from Swirly Frames using Memento Black Ink on the piece of Whisper White.
  4. Stamp the sentiment on the same piece using Blackberry Bliss ink
  5. Stamp on a scrap piece of Whisper White the leaf in Tranquil Tide, 2 large flowers in Blackberry Bliss and 2 small flowers in Petal Pink.  Cut these images out using the Coordinating Framelits and the Big Shot
  6. Cut out 1 leaf (like the one stamped) and 2 of the pointed leaf shapes from Vellum cardstock
  7. Adhere the Tranquil Tide leaf on the right hand side of the wreath using Snail.
  8. Adhere the Vellum leaves using Mini Glue Dots
  9. Adhere the large flowers using Dimensional
  10. Adhere the small flowers using Dimensional - tuck them in between the large flowers
  11. Add 3 Share What you Love Artisan Pearls
  12. Tie a bow from the Petal Pink Metallic Ribbon and adhere to the bottom of the wreath using a Glue Dot

Don't miss out on using your Bonus Days Coupons!

Tuesday, 25 September 2018

Don't forget to use the Bonus Days Coupons that you earned with your orders in August.  They expire as of September 30th, so you'll need to place your order online or email it to me (along with your Bonus Coupons) before then!

Today I'm sharing a card we recently made at my Card Class using the Dashing Deer stamp set and coordinating Framelits.  These are available as a bundle so you can save 10% when you purchase the bundle!

I used Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler on this card - one of my favourites for the holiday season.  Don't you love the pattern that is on the deer!  This is part of the stamp and not Designer Series Paper!

For the inside of the card, we used a different deer stamp.

Timeless Tidings - Show me your creations and your name will be entered into a prize drawing

Saturday, 22 September 2018

Today I'm sharing two cards I made using the Timeless Tidings stamp set.  When I purchased this set, it expected to use it with the amazing Timeless Tidings Project Kit, but I really like the sentiments and small images that are in the set.  It's a very versatile set for the Holiday Season.

First a card that I CASE'd (Copy and Share Everything) from Pinterest.  I'm really sorry, but I can't remember who's card this is.  If it's yours, let me know and I'm happy to give you credit.

I love the look of Shaded Spruce and Real Red together!  This is an easy card to make.  If you don't have Stitched Shapes Framelits, you can cut out squares for the images and backgrounds.  I used a Dimensional to pop up each of the images and added a Red Rhinestone to give it some bling!

My second card is made using the Stamparatus and a template - with this template you can create a wreath from any small image.  I used the instructions from Sandy Hancock to create my template (Thank you for the clear and easy instructions!)
  • Cut one piece of 7"x 7" white card stock (c/s) and draw a line down the centre in both directions.
  • Cut one piece of 7"x 7" acetate and lay it on top of the white cardstock.
  • Cut one piece of 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and draw a line down the center in both directions.
  • Lay the 3 1/2" square on top of the 7" square like you see in the picture. Use a permanent black marker to draw a line around the 3 1/2" square onto the acetate.
  • The turn the 3 1/2" square of paper diagonally, making sure that each tip lines up on one of the black lines.
  • Again, take the permanent black marker and draw a line around the square.
  • Take away the 3 1/2" white square with the lines on it.
  • Insert the large white square with the lines and the acetate with the squares into the Stamparaus.
  • Place a clean 3 1/2" white square into the centre of the square and you are ready to stamp!
  • Place the stamp where you want it to go.
  • Close the Stamparatus plate down over it.  The stamp will stick to the stamparatus and you are ready ink and stamp!
  • Ink the stamp as it is fastened to the Stamparatus plate and then stamp it onto the card stock.
  • After stamping the first image, rotate the 3 1/2" white card stock so that now the points are lined up diagonally.
  • You'll stamp and turn the card stock 8 times until you have gone all the way around the circle.
  • Check out the first picture again to see the finished product!
For this card, I used the poinsettia image to create my wreath.  I stamped it 8 times around the circle using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.  Then I coloured using the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment in the middle of the wreath.  I thought that I should have stamped in VersaMark and embossed in Gold after I finished the card - it would have really popped the sentiment.  Maybe you can try that at home and share your creations!

To finish the card I mounted on Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler card stock and popped up on a piece of All is Bright Designer Series Paper and then finally on a Call Me Clover card base.  A piece of Striped Burlap Trim and some Gold Pearls finished off the card!

Here's my finished product!
This is a great way to use your Stamparatus!  You can create amazing wreaths out of any small image!  I'm so excited to see your cards  Leave a comment with a picture of your creation (doesn't have to be Christmas) and I'll draw for a prize on October 1st!

So many ways to use the Blizzard Thinlits Die

Friday, 14 September 2018

I love the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and the coordinating Blizzard Thinlits Die.  It's one of those stamp sets that I initially didn't think I'd buy, but once I started to see all of the beautiful cards created by other Demonstrators I knew I had to have it.  I particularly love the look of the cards with the water coloured backgrounds.

I played with this bundle yesterday and wanted to share some of the amazing things you can do with it.

  1. The stamp set is perfect by itself to make a beautiful card for the holiday season.  Don't you love the sentiments!
  2. You can cut out lots of different shapes and sizes of snowflakes using the Blizzards Thinlits Die
  3. You can use the negative from the cut out snowflakes as a background for your stamp - just put coloured cardstock behind it
  4. You can use the Blizzard Thinlits Die to emboss a piece of cardstock using the Big Shot Embossing Mats - these mats allow you to turn in any of your favourite Framelits, Thinlits or Edgelits dies into embossing tools.
I'm sure there are lots of other creative ideas.

Here is a card I made using both the stamp set and cut out snowflakes.
For this card I cut out snowflakes using Sparkle Glimmer paper and after stamping my card, I adhered them - layering them to give more of a 3D effect.

Here's what you get when you use the die to emboss a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I haven't made a card yet with this, but I'll share it when I do.
I love the fact that by using the Embossing Mats you can turn any of your dies into embossing tools!

Card Share

Today I'm featuring a card made using the First Frost stamp set and Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalogue.  It's hard to see in the picture, but this paper is stunning with a shimmer to the background!  I think I'm in love!!

Do you remember using the crimping tool to get the look of corrugated cardboard?  Well, now you can use an embossing folder!  What could be easier!

I used 3 shares of green on this card:  Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide.  I really like how soft it feels!

This is one of my thank you cards for September!  Interested in receiving it and the instructions, don't forget to place your order before the end of the month!

Merry Christmas To All

Saturday, 8 September 2018

When I first opened the new Holiday Catalogue I was drawn to the Merry Christmas To All stampset and coordinating Thinlits.  I think it is the lovely font and all of the possibilities for the words.  My card features this stampset and thinlits as well as the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  I really like the vintage feel of the card.

Instructions

  1. Score Cherry Cobbler cardstock (8 1/2" x 5 1/2") in half to make card base.
  2. Run Gold Foil Sheet (5" x 3 3/4") through Big Shot using Tin Tile embossing folder.
  3. Adhere a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Cut out "Merry" and "Christmas" using the Thinlits and Big Shot.
  4. Gently remove the backing from the words and adhere them to the embossed Gold Foil Sheet.
  5. Adhere the Gold Foil Sheet to the Early Espresso cardstock (4" x 5 1/4").  Adhere this to the card base.
  6. For the inside, stamp your sentiment on a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4" x 5 1/4").  Adhere to the inside of the card base.
  7. Add Red Rhinestones to the top of the "i" in Christmas and to cardbase.
  8. Add Red Rhinestone to inside of card
